Marmoset is seeking a Full Stack Software Developer.

What you should know: We have a Tech Team consisting of developers, a Product Owner, and a Software Development Manager. We’re all about Scrum. As part of a small team, our developers are responsible for building and maintaining our end-to-end software lifecycle
We’re a small team and our developers contribute to the full stack as needed. Developers must be open and motivated to learn and grow outside of specific specialties. Our (large and complex!) legacy application supports critical business functions for both our internal staff and our clients: sales order process, music catalog storage and curation, organizing music projects and delivery, ecommerce platform, accounting system integration, and more. We also have a new product launching later in 2021/early 2022! This means there’s lots of interesting development work to choose from, and also offers lots of opportunities to find new creative approaches.
It’s critical for the person in this role to be able to work well both independently and collaboratively, as we’re a self-organizing team that moves quickly together. Giving and asking for help is more important around here than an “expert” mindset. While we may operate casually and unconventionally in some ways, we embrace the freedom to be truly agile, self-organizing and creative.
Our main focus for the next 12 months: 1) Product-focused innovation by developing new features and improvements to level up user experience for our clients and optimizing the existing workflows for our internal staff. 2) Building towards a more modern stack and flexible architecture to support sustained business growth. 3) Mentoring our junior developers to foster their professional development, while establishing a more mature Tech Team.
We are currently on version 5.2+ of Rails, Ruby (2.6.1) and React (16.8+).
This opportunity includes the following technical requirements:
- A sound understanding of business logic as it applies to development and architecture
- Possess a solid methodology for developing and managing clean, readable, maintainable code and writing unit, integration, and E2E tests (we use Rspec and Cypress)
- Working knowledge of open-source database server technology (PostgreSQL)
- Proficient in version control (we use git)
Nice to have:
- Experience with GraphQL/Apollo
- Experience with React or any modern frameworks/libraries (Vue, Angular, etc.)
- Experience with ActiveAdmin
- Database Design
- Experience mentoring + working closely with junior developers

- New Relic & Scout (for app monitoring)
- Jira (for project management)

Pay: This is a mid- to senior-level role with compensation DOE.
