Are you well-versed in the wide world of social media? Do you love creating high-quality content to inspire your followers? ChickTech is seeking a Social Media Intern to help us develop and expand the impact of our digital marketing channels. This internship will be responsible for helping us develop a new social media strategy to increase our brand reach and help us spread the word about our free STEM education and networking opportunities. You’ll work with ChickTech’s Senior Brand Manager to plan a content calendar/strategy, create social media posts for our channels, and help us work with influencers to reach a wider audience.
This opportunity is fully remote and able to accommodate school and/or work schedules.
What to Expect
You will be working remotely with staff and volunteers across the country. We use tools such as Google apps, Slack, Asana, and Zoom to collaborate and stay connected. We typically work Monday through Thursday, and we encourage our staff to take advantage of flexible schedules to maintain a healthy work-life balance. For this internship, you can expect to spend 5-8 hours per week working on projects and collaborating remotely with ChickTech staff.
Working closely with Dani Macuk, Senior Brand Manager, the Social Media Intern will be supporting the following projects/departments:
Social Media Content Strategy
- Build a 2-4 month social media content calendar (TikTok, Instagram/Threads, and LinkedIn) for organic content and paid advertising
- Gather & create shareable content from ChickTech participants & volunteers
Social Media Management
- Draft & schedule posts, including creating short videos and graphics
- On a weekly basis, find & interact with content in the ‘tech x diversity’ space using ChickTech’s social media profiles
- Assist ChickTech’s Youth Program Manager with drafting content for ChickTech’s Discord server
In addition to these responsibilities, you will have the option to engage in other learning opportunities such as job shadowing and observing or participating in meetings relevant to your career goals or interests.
As a small but mighty staff, we believe that a lateral approach to leadership and decision-making helps us collaborate effectively and engage in our work more authentically. We are energized by the challenge of creating strategic, systemic change at all levels, both internally and externally. We value and encourage curiosity, empathy, and openness. We are devoted to providing the space and support needed to take care of ourselves, our families, and each other.
Pay and Benefits
This is an unpaid internship. You are encouraged to participate in any ChickTech events that interest you and join our online community. Please let us know if we can tailor this internship to allow you to fulfill college credits!Commitment to Diversity:
